Emanuel’s company is now based in Istres, France, though at the time of this photo the company had come to the festival from his native Israel. They performed one of his trademark pieces, Right of Spring, and until I saw this magnificent piece, never could I have imagined a salsa style dance number perfectly married to Stravinsky’s romping score.
